KBC Pastor - Ps Vaughan Pirie

Vaughan commenced at Kalgoorlie Baptist Church in late April, 2022.
He is married to Cathy and they have two sons, Nathan and Sam. Previously, Vaughan was the Children and Families Pastor at a Baptist Church in Perth. Prior to that, Vaughan and Cathy served with OMF as mission workers in Thailand. Vaughan has a strong connection to Kalgoorlie Baptist Church, as he previously worked as the Kidz Biz leader while he taught at Goldfields Baptist College from 2000 - 2004.

The Goldfields have been part of his life from the beginning with his mum being a Kalgoorlie girl, his parents meeting here, and then later serving as missionaries in Warburton in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Vaughan and Cathy have a heart for serving God and loving people and they are excited to be sharing the message of God's good news with the people of KBC and in the wider community.

The Pirie family is very mult-cultural with both Nathan and Sam being Thai. Vaughan and Cathy love meeting people from other nationalities and can relate well to them.

Vaughan is an avid West Coast Eagles supporter and his been following them loyally since the late 1980s.

Diaconate

Deacon - Peter O'Sullivan

Peter is currently serving as Chair of the Deacons council (the Diaconate). He is very practical in his approach to serving, and is thoughtful, prayerful and seeks guidance in God's word, while also being very handy in the property maintenance side of being a Deacon. Peter was recently a member of the Pastor Search Committee and his insights were very valuable. Peter and his wife Helen currently lead a life group on Monday evenings.

Deacon - Paul Kenny

Paul is the Deputy Chair of the Diaconate. He has served in many different roles at KBC over the last 20+ years, including Children's Ministry with his wife Helen, hosting life groups and men's ministry events, serving on the Board of Goldfields Baptist College and helping out wherever required. Having a long-term view of ministry at KBC gives Paul perspective and vision for future opportunities.

Deacon - Lucille Jewitt

Lucille is one of our newest Deacons, but by no means the least experienced. She has served her Lord faithfully for many decades and has responded to the call to use her financial management talents for the benefit of God's kingdom here at KBC as the Treasurer. Lucille's complete trust in God's promises and assurance that He is faithful are testimony to her faith, but are also a solid foundation for stewarding the resources God has given KBC.

Deacon - Marie Hollis

Marie knows the ins and outs of serving at KBC - from Girls Brigade (for 20 years) to hosting life groups with husband Gary, helping with morning teas, children's ministry and organising the cleaning roster, as well as serving in the community teaching Scripture in Schools, Marie is one of those quiet saints who willingly gives of her time, energy and talents wherever she is needed. She has recently accepted the position of Secretary on the Diaconate.

Deacon - William Seloka
